I've been reading for as long as I can remember. I know that's a cliche, but it's true. For me, reading is a chance to escape,  a chance to explore new worlds, a chance to meet new people, a chance to go on adventures that I wouldn't have the means to go on in the real world. My love for literature encouraged me to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in English with a minor in Creative Writing (graduated May 2019, Florida Gulf Coast University) and even drove me to continue my education with a Masters Degree in English (graduated May 2021, Florida Gulf Coast University). My future career goals are to become a published author and a show writer for the Walt Disney Studios.

Over the last five years, I have immersed myself in the world of literature, studying everything from 18th century British literature to 20th century American literature. I have also taken numerous classes on prose and creative writing, learning about the publishing and editing processes along the way. Through my education, I've had the opportunity to attend the Sanibel Island Writers Conference two years in a row (2017-2018), where I was able to attend lectures, seminars, and readings by active authors, editors, and agents in the world of literature. I have also won a couple of writing awards in the poetry and short story categories, resulting in publication in Florida Gulf Coast University's literary magazine, the Mangrove Review.

My taste is genres shifts all the time as I am exposed to new writers and literary elements, but I am particularly a long-term fan of historical fiction, mystery, fantasy, and classics. Some of my literary role models are Tamora Pierce, Julie McElwain, Rick Riordan, and  J.K. Rowling, and I am a BIG fan of The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster.

I find immense joy in recommending works to friends and family and encouraging people to continue reading, whether it's within their literary niche or by exploring different genres. With this project, I hope to continue that spread and encouragement and help everyone find new authors, genres, and works that they can use to meet new people, explore new worlds, and find their own literary escape.
